We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You is currently playing at the Esplanade and boy, did it rock us. It's a musical play slash rock concert in one. Mapapa-indak and mapapa-sing-along ka talaga. Kaya lang medyo NR ang mga Singaporean dito. Masyadong demure. :D Ako kay nag headbang na and dancing in my seat and screaming my head off. Natingala siguro to sila kinsa tong gi-epilepsy sa atubangan nila. Bahala sila. :D

We Will Rock You came from West End so the actors speak with Australian and British accents na medyo di nako ma-catch usahay. Many of the songs are from Queen but there are many other songs from more contemporary times. A Filipino (well, half anyway) Migs Ayesa plays the lead, Galileo. If anyone remembers him, he was the one who joined the reality show Rockstar: INXS. He rocked the We Will Rock You song. That one really had me screaming singing along with matching fists waving in the air. :D One of the songs I really liked is No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young). It's kind of haunting and almost had me in tears with the actor's rendition of it last night.

They played with a live band so be prepared to come out of the theater a little bit deaf. Sabi ko nga medyo rock concert ang vibe di ba? :D

Kung di lang mahal ang tickets, I would watch a play every week. The tickets we bought were SG$97 each and it was a little bit far from the stage gihapon. Thanks to nanay and tatay Dindin for convincing us to watch it. Oh yeah, they're here for a visit diay. More on that on another post.
