I've been curious about this restaurant starting when Emman first told me about it. Lami daw ang xiao long bao didto. A kind of dumpling (siomai) nga naay soup sa center. If you aren't careful when eating this, you are likely to scald your tongue. Sayang nga lang wala natuloy ang pagbangka nya sa amo diri.
So last weekend, when C and I decided to belatedly celebrate our monthsary, we decided on Crystal Jade. Yup, we both forgot our monthsary, we're unmushy like that. :D
After attending anticipated mass, we hied off to the nearest Crystal Jade branch. Marami pala sila in Singapore. Parang an upscale version of Chowking. And uso din pala dito ang mga set meals. Like those good for 2, good for 4 etc.
Tulad nung last Valentines day, they would not serve us anything else from the menu other than yung set Valentines meal lang nila na super mahal.
We choose a good for 2 set that had about 3 courses in addition to soup and dessert. We had steamed chicken and roasted duck, squid fried in salt and pepper, some fried tilapia with really delicious sauce. We also ordered a plate of xiao long bao. The xiao long bao did not disappoint. Lami gyud sya. Especially when you dip the dumpling in some chili sauce. I could get addicted to the stuff.
We were so full from the meal. Dapat lang because the whole thing cost almost $60. And the wierd thing was, yung wet tissue nila, separate pa pala ang bayad. We paid almost P5 each for wet tissue. Kung alam ko lang, sinoli ko na lang ang nasa table, because I always bring my own wet ones.
Pero in fairness, lami ang tanang nakaon namo sa Crystal Jade. Just remember to bring wet ones when you go para kasave mo cents sa bill. :D
PS
sorry wala pics because C always forgets to bluetooth the pics to me.
