Not a time to go Christmas shopping

With the recent spate of bombings in the capital, (I still believe that Glorietta was bombed) the best advice one can follow these days is to stay home. Batasan was bombed and there was also another explosion in Cavite. Some refute that the Bacoor blast was solely caused by explosives used for dynamite fishing. They say that bomb paraphernalia was found among the evidence.

I say these incidences are too close together to be coincidental. What are they trying to accomplish? There are a lot of theories floating around. With the capacity of our police intelligence and non-existent forensic capabilities, we may never know which is true.

And if one does throw all caution to the wind and go malling, other dangers abound. You might find a person trying to commit suicide falling on your head. Maybe its time to give the rampant commercialism of Christmas a rest. We can give other kinds of gifts for Christmas. They don't all have to come from a mall. Homemade gifts are the more thoughtful gifts. It's cheaper and in times like these, safer.
